Olubunmi Familoni
Olubunmi Familoni is an award-winning Nigerian writer known for his plays, short stories, and essays. His latest book, The Road Does Not End, won The Nigeria Prize for Literature in 2024, establishing him as an important voice in the continent’s literary scene. In 2023, his play, When Big Masquerades Dance Naked, was longlisted for the Nigeria Prize for Literature and jointly won the Association of Nigerian Authors’ Prize for Drama. That same year, the manuscript for his novel, The Becoming-Nothing of Bodies, was longlisted for the Island Prize. In 2020, Familoni’s children’s book, I’ll Call My Brother for You! won the Association of Nigerian Authors’ Prize for Children’s Literature. His 2015 story collection, Smithereens of Death, won the Association of Nigerian Authors’ Abubakar Gimba Prize for Short Stories.
