PUBLISH WITH US
Thank you for considering Noirledge as the home for your work. We are looking for writing that matters. We publish books that challenge, books that endure, and books that contribute something lasting to African literature and global conversations.
We want manuscripts that are ready. We want writers who have done the work of revision, who understand their material, and who are serious about the publishing process. We want stories rooted in truth, ideas that push boundaries, and voices that refuse to be ignored.
If you believe your manuscript meets these standards, we want to read it.

Our Publishing Process
From the moment you submit your manuscript to the day your book reaches readers, we walk with you through every stage. This is what the process looks like.
Submit Your Manuscript
Send us your complete manuscript along with a one-page synopsis and a brief author bio. We accept submissions year-round through our online portal. There are no submission windows. If your work is ready, send it now.
Editorial Review
Our editorial team reads every submission that comes through. This process takes between eight to twelve weeks depending on the volume of manuscripts we are reviewing at the time. We will contact you within twelve weeks regardless of our decision. If your work aligns with our editorial vision and meets our publishing standards, we will invite you to discuss next steps. If your manuscript is not selected, we will let you know and explain why where possible.
Contract and Development
If we decide to publish your work, we will send you a contract that clearly explains the terms of our agreement. Once the contract is signed, we assign an editor to your manuscript. The editing process can take several months depending on what the manuscript needs. We work closely with you to ensure the final manuscript is as strong as it can be.
Production and Launch
After editing is complete, your manuscript moves to design and production. We create the cover, format the interior, and prepare the book for print and distribution. Once production is finished, we launch your book through our distribution network and marketing channels. You become a published Noirledge author, and your book reaches readers across Nigeria, Africa, and beyond.
Guidelines for Submission
Please read these guidelines carefully before submitting. Manuscripts that do not follow these guidelines will not be considered.
- Submit only complete manuscripts. We do not review partial manuscripts, outlines, or proposals unless you have been specifically invited to submit them.
- Submit only one manuscript at a time. If you have multiple projects, choose the one you believe is strongest and submit that. You may submit another project after you receive a response on your first submission.
- Include a one-page synopsis. Your synopsis should summarise the entire manuscript, including the ending. For fiction, include major plot points and character arcs. For non-fiction, include your thesis and main arguments. Do not withhold information because we need to see the complete arc of your work.
- Include a brief author bio. Tell us who you are, what you have written before, and why you wrote this manuscript. If you have previous publications, awards, or relevant qualifications, include them. If this is your first submission, tell us about your background and what brought you to writing.
- Format your manuscript correctly. Use a standard readable font such as Times New Roman, Garamond, or Arial at 12pt size. Use double spacing throughout. Indent paragraphs with a standard tab, not manual spaces. Use page numbers. Do not use extra line breaks between paragraphs unless you are indicating a scene break.
- Submit your manuscript as a Microsoft Word document (.doc or .docx). Do not submit PDFs because we need to be able to edit and comment on your manuscript if it moves forward in the review process.
- For poetry collections, submit at least 20 poems. Your collection should have a clear thematic or structural unity. Include a table of contents and a brief introduction explaining the collection’s organisation.
- For scholarly works, submit a full manuscript along with an abstract and chapter outline. Include citations and bibliography formatted according to a recognised academic style guide.
- We respond to all submissions within twelve weeks. You will receive an email from us regardless of whether your manuscript is accepted or rejected. If your manuscript is not selected, we will explain our decision where possible.
- Do not submit work that is under consideration elsewhere. If you receive an offer from another publisher whilst your manuscript is under review with us, please inform us immediately.
